Interactive play, MGM Casino @ Detroit, USA

The project was developed for the MGM Casino in Detroit, USA. The mandate was to create an interactive space in the casino buffet. A giant screen was installed and shows cooking utensils suspended. The spatial position of visitors is tracked in real time and applied to the position of utensils on the screen. Each visitor is associated with a utensil that follow them. The buffet installation is a fun experience for visitor and the interactive game very easy to understand.

The tracking system was developed with stereoscopic cameras from Point Grey Research. Two Bumblebee 2 were installed in the ceiling to cover the area. Animations have been made with Processing sofware, a graphical programming environment using Java programming language.
